Doctor’s office worker steals 20K from patients FREE TO GO on a summons under NJ Bail Reform

Oct 30, 2017 | Bail System, New Jersey Fail |

“A Mahwah doctor’s employee from Englewood stole $20,000 from patients, said authorities who arrested him. Sebastian Sarria, 24, ‘accessed the doctor’s credit card processing system and voided patient-based credit card payments,’ then ‘processed them through a cellphone/computer-based credit card application he had subscribed to in his own name,’ Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said. He then transferred the money to his own personal bank account and ‘used [it] for his own purposes,’ Grewal said. Detectives from his office and Mahwah police arrested Sarria on Thursday, the prosecutor said. He was charged with computer-related theft, theft by deception and fraudulent use of a credit card.”
