Kindergarten Teacher’s Aide arrested with Meth in school FREE TO GO under NM Bail Reform

Dec 1, 2017 | Criminal Justice System, New Mexico |

“Deputies say a kindergarten teacher’s aide brought meth to a North Valley charter school, scattered on the drug on the ground and then ingested it. According to a criminal complaint, 48-year-old Fernandez Pizarro-Hernandez admitted he brought the drugs to school and then he tried to hide the evidence by spilling some on the ground and then eating the rest. Deputies wound up taking him to the hospital for possible meth ingestion. Pizarro-Hernandez faced a judge Wednesday morning on charges of drug possession at a school, child abuse and tampering with evidence. Prosecutors asked Judge Renee Torres for pre-trial supervision… The complaint states Pizarro-Hernandez admitted to bringing a bag of meth to the North Valley Academy Charter School, where he works as a kindergarten teacher’s aide. The complaint states a kindergarten teacher found a small Ziplock bag, containing the drug after it fell out of Pizarro-Hernandez’s belongings he left near the playground after taking the kindergarteners back to class. The kindergarten teacher immediately alerted the principal. According to the complaint, Pizarro-Hernandez told deputies ‘he tore open the bag while walking [to the office] spilling some of the contents on the ground. Most of the larger pieces fell out but some of the powder was left in the bag.’ The document states that while waiting in the office for deputies to arrive, Pizarro-Hernandez said he put the bag with the remaining powder in a water bottle and then drank it. Deputies said a piece that had fallen out before did test positive for meth.”
