Man charged with DWI and child endangerment hits bicyclist with car – FREE TO GO under NJ Bail Reform
“Anibal Velasquez Jr. of Vineland was arrested and charged with multiple crimes including driving while intoxicated, child endangerment and reckless driving after hitting a man on a bicycle on May 18. The 33-year-old Velasquez Jr. was heading east on New Pear Street when he hit the bicyclist heading west. The bicyclist, who sustained undisclosed injuries, was taken to the hospital. Officials say Velasquez Jr. has two younger children who were uninjured in the accident, officials said. Police officials also say they observed that Velasquez Jr. had consumed alcohol before getting in his vehicle. He was taken to Vineland police headquarters for processing. Authorities said that a breathalyzer test given at police headquarters revealed Velasquez Jr. was twice the legal limit. Velasquez Jr. was given a citation and released. He is awaiting a court date.”
